Week Four change two ferrocarril

 Dear Gente,
This week was pretty normal. We taught one of our investigators named Juan Manuel about the plan of salvation. He was kind of concerned about the ghost of his suegro which he clames has been turning the automatic light on and off. I let Elder Tenazoa handle that one because he claims to have more experience with ghosts from living in the jungle where a lot of black magic and things happens. But who knows.
That is pretty much all for right now. Have a good week,
Elder Christensen

week three change two ferrocarril

Good afternoon,

This week wa pretty normal. It started out with an intercambio That I went to do with the district leader in Lezica. We went to visit this older gentleman who is convinced that the government sent somebody to steal his personal computer becasue he is receiving the missionaries. It was fun. And we also got our investigators Sergio and Evelyn to commit to attend church and get married. And they used to be atheists. Other than that I am having a hard time remembering what happened this week. Thats all right.

1) Me and Elder Espìnola. Some fun facts avout Elder Espìnola. 1- He used to have long hair 2- He didn't learn to speak spanish until he came on the mission because before that he only spoke guaranì 3- He has a bullet lodged in his pelvis which is pretty cool.

Ten months in

Querido gente,

Well it has been mostly a very normal week. I have learned that most weeks in the mission are pretty normal. But we did have some excellent experiences. To start we had a multizone conference with president Eddy in carrasco next to the temple. It was a great conference where I learned a lot of things. And then afterwards we were in portones shopping center waiting for our bus to show up and this young man walked up to us and he said " you guys are mormons right?" and we were like " yeah we're mormons" then he told us about how he was italian but had lived in Uruguay for the past four years and how that he had never seen mormons in Italy, but that there were a bunch of mormons in Uruguay and now he was really interested in the subject of religion in general. Then it turned out that he was taking the same bus as us, so he sat by Elder Tenazoa who used his magic powers, and by the end of the bus ride this guy, (David) was in tears because he felt the spirit so strongly, and had a baptismal date and every thing. So we sent his reference to the secretaries of the other mission.
The other thing that happend was that we had an appointment with a future investigator close to our house named Eddy. We hadn't been able to get his phone number or anything so as we were approaching his house I was thinking " wow it takes a lot of faith to show up at an uncomfirmed appointment after so many instances of them falling through, And then he let us in and we taught most of his family. Faith folks, it really works.

1) Elder Vera caught me passed out at the end of the day. Yes it had been a number of days since I cleaned or organized my personal living space. But rest assured that I did it today. This is actually getting to be a problem, becuase I fall asleep before I can organize the carpeta de àrea or write in me journal or clean. But I am working on it.

Week1 Change 2 Ferrocarril

Hey everbody,

Well has been a pretty interesting week. My new companion Elder Tenazoa arrived on wednesday morning. He has been on the mission for about four and a half months, but he is like a Wizard. For example we had this one lesson about the plan of salvation with our investigators Sergio and Evelyn and their Children, and at the begining of the lesson they were atheists, and by the end of the lesson they beleived in God. It is like beatiful gospel magic. I am pretty happy about it. Other than that it started raining on thursday morning and hasn't stopped, and that combined with the fact that it gets dark at six for winter has really put a damper on proselyting efforts. But it just means that God is saving up for a really really big miracle. So I am waiting.

Our less active members Diego and Camila got married this week so we got to go to their reception, and the next day they gave us a really big plate of cake and Pizza. Pizza in uruguay is actually pan con tuco, but it is still good.

I would like to give a shout out to my friend Hunter Fields, who has been called to serve in Rosarion, Argentina. Good luck Hunter.

Quotable quote of the week: Venid a mi todos vosotros que tenèis frio, y yo os abrigarè- Elder Castillo

Week five in Ferrocarril

My fellow patriots,

Well Los Estados Unidos de Amèrica cumplen dos cientos cuarenta y uno años hoy. I think. So to celebrate the zone leaders hosted a zone activity where we made hamurgers, because they are both americans. Also it is transfers this week. So this is what is happening. Elder Diaz got called to be a district leader in Las Piedras, so coming to replace him is this kid named Elder Tenesoa from Perù. He is the trainee of Elder Castillo who we share the house with who is also from Perù. Elder Castillo is receiving a new companion named Elder Vera, from Perù. I am going to be in a house with three peruanos. Wish me luck.

As far as interesting things that happened this week. Well we had found this new investigator named Jonathan a couple of weeks ago, and then after that we couldn't find him. Yesterday we encountered him in the street. He said that the day after we talked to him he and his pareja had had an argument because of his drug problems and she kicked him out of the house so he is living in the street. We taught him about how repentance works and he asked to meet with us on friday. I see potential.
